Set Mobile Number as UPI Number on Google Pay (Gpay)

In the near future, it will no longer be possible to transfer money via mobile number to any UPI application. To transfer money between different UPI applications, you will need to create a UPI number.

Now, it is possible to use your Google Pay (Gpay) mobile number as your UPI Number and receive money from any UPI application. You can easily set your phone number as your 10-digit UPI Number, which will enable you to receive money from various UPI applications such as PhonePe, Paytm, Amazon Pay, BHIM, etc.

So here we will tell you step by step how to create your UPI number (set mobile number as UPI number) on Google Pay (Gpay).

Step 1: Open the Google Pay application and tap on the profile image & open the profile section.

Step 2: In the profile, tap on the “Bank Account” option and open your linked bank accounts list.

Step 3: Select the bank account for which you want to create UPI Number. (You will receive money in this selected bank account when you share the UPI number with the sender) I suggest, select your primary bank account.

Step 4: Next screen, tap on the “Manage UPI Numbers” option.

Step 5: Next screen you can see your mobile number (Set your phone number as UPI number on Google Pay), tap on the () icon.

Step 6: If your Phone number is set as a UPI number on another UPI application then it will be removed. Tap on the continue button.

Step 7: Ok done! Your UPI number is created successfully and your mobile number is now set as your 10-digit UPI number.

Step 8: This UPI number is now linked with your selected bank account UPI ID. So no need to share your UPI ID, just share this 10-digit UPI number to receive money in your bank account.

So this way you can set your mobile number as a UPI number on Google Pay and receive money from any UPI Application by sharing this UPI number.
