Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is a digital payment system that allows users to transfer money between bank accounts instantly using a smartphone. Amazon Pay UPI is one of the many UPI apps available in India.
Amazon Pay UPI will automatically generate a UPI ID for you when you link your bank account. However, you can also create your own custom UPI ID if you prefer. To do this, follow these steps:
Create a new UPI ID on Amazon Pay
To create a new UPI ID on Amazon Pay, follow these steps:
Step 1: Open the Amazon app on your smartphone. Tap on the three horizontal lines at the bottom right corner of the screen and open the “Amazon Pay” section. You can also find Amazon Pay section on the home screen.
Step 2: In the Amazon Pay section, tap on the “Amazon Pay UPI” option.
Step 3: In the Amazon Pay UPI section, you can see your linked bank accounts. To create a UPI ID for the bank account, simply tap on the verticle three dots (⋮) as you can see in the below screenshot.
Step 4: Now select the “Manage UPI IDs” option.
Step 5: Next screen tap on the “Add ID” option.
Step 6: Now enter your new UPI ID and tap on the Create UPI ID. Your new UPI ID will be created with @apl
Step 7: Done! your new UPI ID has been created successfully and now you can share this new UPI ID to receive money in your linked bank account. Your primary UPI ID will remain active. You can also delete this new UPI ID, just tap on the Delete (trash) button as you can see in the below screenshot.
You can create up to four UPI IDs for the same bank account, and all of your UPI IDs will work together. You can share any of your UPI IDs to receive money in your bank account.
Once you have created a UPI ID on Amazon Pay, you can start using it to make and receive payments instantly.
